bric grant program restored by federal judge

In an interesting turn of events, we have the judicial system stepping in to overturn a decision by the Trump Administration to kill the Building Resilience Infrastructure Communities (BRIC) program (that was established in the first Trump Administration—go figure).

I also found this response from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) totally unhinged from reality, “A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said in a statement it had not terminated BRIC and that "any suggestion to the contrary is a lie." BRIC was used by Democratic President Joe Biden's administration "as a Green New Deal slush fund," the spokesperson added.”

If BRIC funds were taken and used for other purposes beyond disaster mitigation—would that be “Fraud, waste and abuse.”

I have not found the administration to just “jump” to act on any judicial ruling so far. So, don’t hold your breath on this one and expect monies to start flowing again.
