dhs ends remote work
In my mind we have our entire federal government functions in “reverse gear” and moving backward as fast as possible. One example of that is this, DHS abruptly ends flexible work agreements
Butts in seats, five days a week at work might be the best title for the above story. This runs counter to everything that is happening across the business world—in general. Where appropriate, remote work is a “cost savings” to the organization. Just this past week I contacted Xfinity for an installation and adjustment to my plan. The person I worked with professional and she shared that all positions like hers are completely remote—no call centers!
One of the best options for drawing the best workers and keeping them is flexibility in the work schedule. This is especially true for the younger generations. No telework, no flex schedules, commuting is required, etc. etc.
Add to that: No to electric vehicles, low flow toilets, and water faucets, LED lightbulbs, renewable energy from solar and wind. We are into coal, oil and natural gas. Meanwhile the rest of the world will surge ahead of us in all those technologies. Especially China!
