hurricane season approaches

There are only a few days left in May before the 2025 hurricane season begins on June 1st. See NOAA Predicts ‘Above Average’ Hurricane Season

It is not a exact predictor of impending doom. Not as bad as the 2024 prediction, but it only takes one really bad hurricane coming ashore in “exactly the wrong place” to change everything. What would be the “exactly the wrong place?” One word…Miami!

It has been a long time since they were in a bullseye for a hurricane. Never say never!

As far as attributing any missed ability to accurately forecast a hurricane’s impact or course due to cuts at the National Weather Service—good luck with that! There are/were no impacts whatsoever! That will be the official line anyway.
