Can we triage EMP

I have written about the impacts of Coronal Mass Ejection (CEM) and Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) events many times over the years in this blog and then had at least one guest on the Disaster Zone Podcast who discussed space weather and warning of CEM events. 

Today we have this article, ELECTROMAGNETIC PULSE TRIAGE & RECOVERY

Certainly the scope and scale of a EMP hitting earth are significant. What the article postulates is that something can be done to protect electrical systems and our many and varied computer systems. Think about all the Artificial Intelligence (AI) data centers being built today. Do you think any of them are considering the possibility of an EMP? I don’t think so. 

People and organizations want to make money and if they even have a concept of what an EMP is or can do to their systems, they are highly unlikely to want to “waste money” on an issue they consider to be possible, but not likely. 

As I have said many times, “It isn’t an issue, until it is an issue.”
