noaa shutting down climate.gov website

In another attack on science in general and climate science in particular, the federal government has decided to shut down it’s www.Climate.gov website. Some additional details are at this Guardian Newspaper article, Major US climate website likely to be shut down after almost all staff fired

I don’t see the government giving up a very valuable website name like www.climate.gov.  The worst case scenario is that it is resurrected with pseudo-science that contradicts the current assessment of climate scientists from around the world that global warming is real and the planet is getting warmer.

It is the same type of assault on the truth that has lumber companies doing ads like “protect our forests.” I’m not a tree hugger, but names have meaning. Maybe the ad should support “sustainable harvesting of timber” which I do think is appropriate.  Let’s see what happens to www.climate.gov
