CISA senior leadership team gutted

The bleeding of experience and institutional knowledge is continuing across the federal government as professionals with decades of experience take the buyout that was offered and leave their positions. I was around for the creation of CISA and even before it got fleshed out as a full agency. The mission started with some infrastructure advisors working as lone rangers out trying to help public and private infrastructures improve their security posture. With the creation of CISA the cybersecurity efforts were really boosted with more staff with direct expertise became part of the team.

As noted in the article above, the reply from the administration’s perspective “rings hollow” for me, ““CISA is doubling down and fulfilling its statutory mission to secure the nation’s critical infrastructure and strengthen our collective cyber defense,” Bridget Bean, the agency’s executive director, said in a statement. “We were created to be the cybersecurity agency for the nation, and we have the right team in place to fulfill that mission and ensure that we are prepared for a range of cyber threats from our adversaries.”

Ah, I think you are currently working with the “third string” being in charge. Who pray, wants to go work for these people at this point in time?
