why is the public not being warned about possible terrorist attacks?

Remember the color-coded homeland security warning system? Formally titled National Terrorist Advisory System (NTAS) I was thinking just the other day, “How come there hasn’t been an form of alert/advisory put out following the attack on Iran.”

Then today, there is this article, Iran Strike Operation Epic Fury Underway: Why Has DHS Not Issued an NTAS Alert?

Political gamesmanship in Washington, D.C. is maxed out these days. One tactic being used by the administration is to say “these Department of Homeland Security (DHS) services are not available due to the partial government shutdown” that has not funded the entirety of the DHS services. If that is the game they are playing, I recommend they reverse course because the first mistake that any person or government agency does is to not warn the public of a possible threat—and then have that threat materialize, be it a disaster or terrorist attack that impacts people’s lives.

We already have had one attack in Austin, TX that appears to have had a lone wolf style shooting in the entertainment district of that city. News media continues to hint at “Iranian Terrorist Sleeper Cells” and yet no alert has been issued.

It is a BIG mistake if they are just trying to play politics with a possible outcome of a “failure to warn” situation.

Or it could just be plain mismanagement…with the slow and chaotic evacuation of Americans out of the Middle East being “Exhibit A” for poor prior planning.
